December Horoscope

If you have a December horoscope, then that means that you?re either a Sagittarius or a Capricorn. The range for Sagittarius is December 1st to December 22nd, and the rest of the month falls in Capricorn territory. Despite being in the same month, Sagittarius and Capricorn are actually quite different characters. It?s interesting to think that if an individual born on the 22nd had been born just a day later, they might have had quite a different temperament?and a different December horoscope.

Sagittarius is ?the archer,? specifically a centaur?half horse and half man?according to Greek mythology. Hercules was attacked by centaurs, and in the distance he mistook Chiron, a good centaur and his tutor for one of the attacking centaurs and shoots him with an arrow, killing him. Because of Hercules? sorrow, Zeus places Chiron in the sky as the constellation Sagittarius. Capricorn is ?the goat.? Greek mythology models Capricorn after Pan, the goatish god of shepherds and flocks,

The nature of Sagittarius is said to be optimistic and straightforward. Sagittariuses are also very ambitious and curious people, always trying to accomplish their goals and acquire knowledge even when they face failure. They have a strong sense of morality, which often manifests as religious devotion. In their relationships with other people, they are reliable and trustworthy. However, Sagittarius can also be impatient and quick to anger. They may also be restless and inconsiderate, and sometimes too optimistic to the point of blindness. They are prone to being domineering and being superstitious.

Capricorns are serious, independent and determined. They are very resourceful, respectful to authority and they think about things practically. They persevere under difficult conditions and they are successful because they plan decisions carefully and they can put aside other concerns to single minded pursue a goal. On the negative side, a Capricorn can be pessimistic, moody and ?capricious.? They might be uncomfortable in relationships because they are self contained and keep to themselves. They can also be rigid in conventional beliefs and come off as emotionless.

The December horoscope for Sagittarius advises individuals to be cautious of making rash decisions, while the Capricorn December horoscope suggests being social and working harmoniously with others. Common sense suggests that individuals of both zodiac signs should be careful not to make decisions without thinking them through and try to maintain harmonious relationships with other people as best as they can.

Different Types Of Nursing Jobs

There are many different reasons why some people can go into nursing and others can not. It is a profession that requires a lot of caring, but there are some that would care too much and find it is too hard to deal with pain and suffering. If you are one of the latter, but you still want to help people, you may want to think about the many different types of nursing jobs out there. You may find one that you can do without feeling overwhelmed with the emotions that can sometimes go along with this profession.

Probably the most traumatic of the types of nursing jobs are the ones that take you to the emergency room. You never know what is going to come in through the doors, and it could be that you spend each shift watching adults and children die or struggle through immense amounts of pain. They could have injuries that change their lives forever. Not everyone can stand these types of nursing jobs because they take it all in too much. If that is you, don?t fret, there are other things you can do.

Some types of nursing jobs are easier, even when trauma is involved, but you probably have some time to get use to the idea of what is going to happen. Those that work in operating rooms usually know what they are going to be dealing with each day. Though there are some emergency operations, the day is not as unknown as it would be in the ER. These jobs can also pay very well, and are usually not as traumatic in less urban areas.

Other types of nursing jobs are all about patient care, but they can vary in how hard they are to handle. Those that do not want to see too much suffering, but still want to help people can find great jobs in doctors offices. These can be hectic, but generally not that bad in the way of trauma. For a bit more uncertainty, some can work in hospitals and nursing homes as floor nurses. These types of nursing jobs can be very hard when people are dying right before your eyes. Some love to be there, however, to make someone?s last moments as comfortable as possible.

The types of nursing jobs out there are varied, as you can tell, but there is something there for everyone if that is what they want to do for a career. Some pay very well, and others not as much, but there is always work out there for nurses no matter how bad the economy may get. People can skip eating out and shopping for electronics, but people are always going to get sick. All types of nursing jobs can be hard, but they can also be infinitely rewarding too.

entertainment agent

entertainment agent

Most think that an entertainment agent is something that only big name stars may need, whether they be in sports, movies, or in the music business. This is not really true. Most know that aspiring stars often seek an agent to help them make it to the ?big time,? but they don?t realize that others in those professions may need this type of help as well. Anyone who performs for money should have some sort of help once things get rolling along.

My husband?s band plays regionally, and they are not signed with a major label. However, they are very popular, and they command a lot of money when they play. They are very busy, and this prompted them to find an entertainment agent. This meant that they could concentrate on playing and writing new material while the entertainment agent goes out and gets them high paying shows and takes care of some of the other details that may otherwise take up just too much time.

When you search for an entertainment agent, however, you do have to be very careful about who you choose and what type of contract you sign. My husband?s band is having a hard time with their entertainment agent because they didn?t look into his past as well as they should have, and they signed a contract that is way too restrictive. His fee is way too high as well. This is a common problem because people often get very excited about what having an agent means to their career, and they don?t take the time to check things out like they should.

When you are searching for an entertainment agent, do a check on their past. See who they may have represented and what they did for them. If you can contact any of those people for a reference, do it. You may find out they are a great entertainment agent, and that you should sign right up. On the other hand, you may find that they should be avoided at all costs.

Also remember that there are fakes out there, who claim they know what they are doing, when in fact they are full of hot air. They are the most dangerous types of all. Have any contract presented to you looked over by an entertainment lawyer. They can spell out the terms of the contract for you in terms you can understand. They will probably also advise you as to whether or not you should sign up or move on.

Build Credit History

Build Credit History

The reports on your credit history and your credit score are what decide if you are a good candidate for a loan or perhaps a line of credit. Keeping and maintaining good credit is hard these days, as there are so many confusing things that can negatively impact your credit. Keeping a good score is easier than building a bad one back up, however, so do what you can to pay our bills on time. If you have bad credit, or no credit at all, do what you can to build credit history to raise your score so you are more attractive to lenders when you want to buy a house or make another type of major purchase.

Before you build credit history, there are some things that you should understand about your credit and what it can mean to your life. You can get some money with less than stellar credit, but when you do that, you pay more in interest. Your bad credit could also make you ineligible for some jobs. In fact, more and more employers are checking credit history to decide if you are responsible or not. You may also find that other areas of your life are affected by your credit as well.

The first step to build credit history is to understand what is wrong with your credit. You may know of a few things that are wrong, but you will not know for sure the full extent of your problem unless you get a copy of your credit report. This is something you can do once a year for free, and you can also order copies for a fee any time you want them. You can sign up for services that will send you a copy once a month so you can keep a close eye on what is happening. This is also a great service if you worry about identity theft.

Once you know what the problems might be, you can then start working on a plan to build credit history back up to what it should be. Find the small glitches on your report and fix them right away. Small bills of twenty dollars that you never paid hurt you a lot, so paying them off can make a huge difference right away. Also check over your report for listings that are not yours. This happens more often than you think. You can dispute these with the credit agencies to get them off of your report. Mistakes others made should not be hurting your credit.

After you have gone through those steps, or at least gotten started on them, you can then tackle the bigger problems on your report. Some of your debt is good debt as long as you are making timely payments. If you can catch up, do so, and then see if you can get it updated as soon as possible. Work with a company that can help you build credit history from the ground up or that can help you fix the problems you already have. They can often negotiate lower payments and help you get a loan to pay off what you owe.

Bargain Shopper

Bargain Shopper

If there is one thing I am good at it is saving money. Perhaps it is the miserly influence of my dad, but I have learned to be the ultimate bargain shopper. My husband often shakes his head when he goes shopping with me, but he is always impressed in the end with the money I save, and how much I can buy for so little. When it comes to being a bargain shopper, I have learned all the tricks by experience and knowing that saving money in the store means more money in my savings. When it comes time to retire, I?ll be happy I was so picky.

One thing a good bargain shopper needs is patience. This can mean taking your time searching through a discount rack, or it can mean waiting for something expensive to come down in price or to go on sale. If you are one of those people that has to have all the newest stuff as soon as it hits the shelves, you may not be cut out to be a bargain shopper. However, if you don?t mind buying Christmas cards for the next year on December 27th, you are ready to go.

When it comes to clothing, you have to be ready to search to save some money. A bargain is not a bargain if the clothes are no good. Just because a top is six dollars at Wal-Mart does not mean that it is a good bargain. You get the bargain when you find a high priced piece of apparel marked down to an affordable price. A bargain shopper knows that when shopping for clothing, you have to take some time to search through the discount rack. A lot of the stuff won?t be anything you like, but you can find some great clothes if you look.

Remember to look at the clearance section in any store you visit, even if you aren?t looking for anything at the moment. This is a great way to get your Christmas shopping done. A good bargain shopper will start buying things early, and then will look around all year for great prices on items they know their friends and family will love. They will never know you got their gift off a clearance shelf unless you tell them. These gifts are as good as any, but you just saved yourself some money by being a good bargain shopper.

Practice a consistent, organic garden weed control program for a virtually weed free garden!

Practice a consistent, organic garden weed control program for a virtually weed free garden!

Weeding is not a favorite gardening chore, but it’s inescapable. Before you consider using herbicides, try this natural approach to garden weed control. It does require persistence on your part, but if you consistently nip those weeds as soon as they crop up, over time you’ll find that fewer and fewer of these pesky plants will be found. Here’s how.

The first rule of an organic weed control program is to never, ever, toss pulled weeds into your compost pile. While the heat may kill some of them, there’s always a few that come back to life. Bag up those weeds in a black plastic bag and let them bake! Don’t mix this in any of your beds.

As soon as spring is on it’s way, take advantage of mild days and go out in the garden and start plucking the weeds from their cozy little spots in the garden. Be methodical and tackle one area at a time. A small bucket with a handle is easy to carry from area to area. Then, on to trash bag heaven!

Your successful garden weed control program must be repeated at least once a week. If you have the opportunity to get to it a couple of times a week, so much the better. The faster you get them out, the quicker you’ll reach the virtually weed free goal. Some put out long tap roots quickly. You know what happens then. The root breaks off and comes back stronger than ever, as well as being even more difficult to eradicate.

Within just a few weeks after the arrival of warmer days, you’ll notice a definite decrease in the number of weeds. You’ll notice this because each area will take less time to police for these little culprits. Your garden weed control program is starting to bear fruit ? your time savings!

In these water conscious times, more gardeners are seeing the value of mulching. A layer of mulch helps the soil to retain water, but it does double duty in squelching weed eruptions. The mulch, spread about 2-3 inches thick, tends to suffocate any would be weeds. However, if you see one pop up, go get it!

Installing an automatic watering system, with flat strips of finely perforated hosing, allows you to water right at the base of the plants you want to grow, starving out the weeds on the periphery. The slow, deep watering makes your plants more vigorous and doesn’t waste water. Incidentally, the best time to water is early in the morning. Watering in the middle of the day can shock your plants, flowers and vegetables, while wasting water that evaporates quickly. Watering too late in the day is an invitation to molds.

Raised beds are a boon to the organic garden weed control objective. Garden soil always contains weed seeds. If you use nursery soil and composted amendments and fertilizers to fill your raised beds, you’re starting from a baseline of very few weeds cropping up anywhere. Raised beds are also easier to weed, as you can sit comfortably on the edge of the bed, instead of crouching for hours.

Really, the whole trick to this garden weed control strategy is that you be unrelenting in your weekly weeding and apply fresh mulch as soon as the weather warms. By mid-summer, you can have a virtually weed free garden.

Depression Message Boards A Good Idea For You?

Depression Message Boards A Good Idea For You?

Depression is something that can strike anyone at any time. Some have had a mild depression for a very long time, but have refused to seek any type of help for the situation. This is something that happens for many reasons, and at times, for what seems like no reason at all. When you get a diagnosis of depression, you can be stunned and wonder what you can do for help. You can always join some depression message boards, but know that this is not always the best idea for everyone.

There is absolutely no doubt that depression message boards do a world of good for many people. There are some folks with depression that have no one to talk to, or they have people around them that do not believe depression is a real condition. When they find some good depression message boards, they have found a lifeline that they need to know they are not alone, they are not crazy, and that there is hope that they are going to feel better and have a great life in the future. For some people, however, they can make things worse – at least at first.

If you are dealing with depression that comes from a very specific cause, you may have more trouble dealing with what you find on depression message boards. You can try them out, but be aware if you find that you are looking up posts on things that pertain to what you went through, and you are feeling worse rather than comforted in that fact that you are not alone. For example, if you have been cheated on by a spouse, and you keep reading posts on depression boards from others in the same situation, you may be feeling more depressed rather than uplifted and comforted.

There are a few logical reasons why this happens. When it is an event that has lead you into your feelings and to the depression message boards, you have a situation that is going to lead you to emotional triggers. These are things that remind you of the event in question, even when they are small things. In fact, they usually are small things. Just reading some vague details on depression message boards about the same subject can make you feel much worse because those emotional triggers are going off all around you.

What you may find that you have to do, in this case, is avoid the depression message boards for just a little while. Talk with your doctor about the right mediations, and get them into your system and working before you go back to them to see if you can handle what you read. You may need some time and a bit of therapy before you can find the great support that you can get through these message boards for depression. They are going to make a world of difference in your life as long as you are ready to be on them.

Does delaying marriage lead to better relationships in the long term?

August 12th, 2009

Does delaying marriage lead to better relationships in the long term?

It’s a fact that men and women today are marrying at a later age than in past generations. Today, the average age at which women marry is 26, while men hold off until about 28. There are a number of factors that play into people’s decisions to wait. Both men and women want better relationships that will stand the test of time.

Current statistics show that among teens who marry, two out of three such early marriages end in divorce. Among all age groups in the U.S., the divorce rate is a staggering 50%. Many young people have seen their own parent’s marriages end in divorce and know first hand of some of the devastating effects divorce can have on all of the family members. Young people have good reason to delay marriage, making the process of finding Mr. Or Miss Right a careful, considered choice.

One key to better relationships in marriage is giving yourself a chance to mature. Teens are still in the process of growing up, gaining experience in relationships with their peers, of both genders. Teens simply don’t have the maturity, or real time interactions with a variety of personalities and don’t have adequate skills that allow them to communicate with others in productive ways. Teen relationships tend to be predicated on good looks and the more superficial aspects of their partner. Decisions to marry, based on superficial considerations, are typically shallow and won’t stand the test of time.

Young people today are also aware that a good education is necessary to a good career. Completing their education translates into a better income. When you consider that money problems are the number one reason cited in divorce, it’s wiser to complete your education before you marry.

Besides starting out in marriage with a satisfying career, you also gain more experience with a variety of personalities and are better able to refine your take on an individual you might want to marry. Your judgments are not so impulsive. Observing your friend’s love relationships, the good and the bad, contributes to better relationships of your own. You learn to recognize characteristics of people on a deeper level. While Joe or Mary may be the best looker around, you’re not so likely to overlook, or fail to recognize, that Joe has a reputation for cheating on all of his girlfriends, or that Mary is an insincere gold-digger.

During the transition from adolescence to adulthood, you begin to build true self confidence. You have the freedom to give yourself a chance to find out what you really want in a marriage partner, as well as define your personal goals. For example, do you want to have children? At what age? What personal characteristics are most important to you in your mate? You might date twenty losers before you can answer this question. The result of giving yourself time to mature is, undoubtedly, better relationships that are more likely to last. That teen heart throb from your high school days may seem a laughable choice by the time you’re in your mid-twenties.

No matter your age, all couples who marry hope that the marriage will last a lifetime. Give yourself a chance to mature, get a good education and establish what you really want for your fairy tale marriage. Take these steps, don’t rush into marriage and you’ll find, at the very worst, you’ll have a better social life in general and a better relationship in marriage. You deserve to make your dreams come true!

What Baby Adoption is all about

What Baby Adoption is all about

Baby adoption refers to the legal procedure of gaining rights to bring up somebody else?s baby. People seek to adopt in a bid to either start or expand their own families. There are people who give birth to children and then choose to give them up for adoption. These people may not be in a position to take care of the baby at the moment. There are babies who are abandoned by their parents and they end up in homes where they are taken care of until a suitable foster home is granted the rights. People seeking to adopt a baby need to learn more about the adoption procedures and discuss it with their partners as well as family members.

If there are other children in the family, they need to be briefed on what their guardians are just about to embark on to prepare them psychologically. They also need to learn to accept this new addition to the family and take them like one of them. There are several types of adoption and people willing to adopt need to go through them to pick the one that falls within their needs. Baby adoption comes with a price and people ought to have planned before hand. For them to be granted adoption rights, they must meet some requirements which are laid down by adoption agencies. They must have stable families and must have the material support necessary to bring up this baby in the right environment.

They will also be required to settle for an adoption lawyer who will handle the transactions on their behalf. This will tag along with the adoption agency they have chosen to use to get their baby. This adoption agency will issue them with a form which they will have to fill in with the help of the attorney. This form will show their suitability and the final decision lies on the information they give. Adoption laws which vary with different states will require the prospective parents to go through a process known as the ?home study?.

This will qualify their home as a suitable base to raise the adopted baby in. Pre-adoption classes will also be attended and this is where they will also learn about parenting. After they have satisfied the agency with their progress, they will be given an opportunity to locate the baby they wish to adopt. A baby adoption petition will then be filed after the baby?s arrival and then the adoption will be finalized. This will be followed up with more lessons on post-adoption. It is advisable for prospective foster parents to consult others who have gone through the same. This will give them an insight on what to expect.

Emotional stress is bad for your health! Effective ways of coping

Emotional stress is bad for your health! Effective ways of coping

All of us experience some degree of emotional stress on a fairly frequent basis. Our fast-paced lives and stringent schedules seem to invite stress. Never enough time, financial worries, job stress and family problems all contribute. The fact is that emotional stress wears away at your good health. It can affect your immune system response negatively, making you more vulnerable to illness. If you have certain existing medical conditions, such as high blood pressure, emotional stress isn’t going to help. Given that we’re all subject to this type of stress, at least occasionally, the name of the game is to keep the stress to a minimum. Here are a few tried and true ways to reduce stress of an emotional nature.

Your first step should be to assess your personality type. If you’re the laid-back type, you have an advantage, in that it’s easier for you to shrug off minor stresses. However, if you’re the hyper type, tending towards anxiety and nervousness, stressful situations tend to build on one another, leaving you a nervous wreck in very short order, while also significantly affecting your health. In either case, once you’ve made this self assessment, you can better judge how many of these stress reducing ideas you’ll need to pursue to get on a better footing with life.

It’s a good idea to keep a log where you record situations that bring on emotional stress. This helps you identify your personal ‘triggers’. A small notebook is all you need. Just a brief description is all you need to later recall the entire event. For example, ‘forgot to pay the phone bill’ or ‘conflict with Mary at work’ should suffice. You’ll find that when you make a note, over time you’ll start to see patterns which reveal characteristics of your own behavior which may consistently lead to stressing out. You may find that, due to procrastinating, you’re frequently late accomplishing tasks that exacerbate your stress.

Certainly, there are occasions when emotional stress is warranted, such as worrying over a child’s illness. The problem with this type of stress is that it has a ’snowball’ effect when you allow every little thing to pile up in one indistinguishable mass of worry and you soon find yourself overwhelmed. Your log can help to sort out the issues over which you have control. Procrastination, for example, can lead to many unnecessary hassles. In this case, by making a calendar of events you need to attend to before a problem arises can go a long way to reducing emotional stress.

On the other hand, your log may simply reveal that, due to an anxious and nervous disposition, minor stresses form the majority of your entries. In this case, it’s most often helpful to focus on getting rid of some of that nervous energy. Some people just have ‘energy to burn’, quite literally. Implement a program of regular exercise. A brisk walk in the fresh air twice daily works wonders for staving off bouts of emotional stress. Some people find that rigorous cleaning around the house (think cleaning the oven, vacuuming, washing walls) serves to alleviate stress in two ways: you burn off excess energy and gain the satisfaction of a visibly cleaner home.

Hobbies of a less physical nature, such as reading, drawing or knitting are good techniques for reducing stress, especially if your health doesn’t permit excessively vigorous physical activities. Your object here is to allow your mind to be occupied with something you enjoy, rather than letting yourself stew over emotional issues which really aren’t significant in the long run. This method helps you take a step back, relax and put things in perspective.

Other primarily mental ‘exercises’ that prove helpful to many people include meditation and prayer, which also gets your mind out of the immediate. Giving yourself a spiritual lift has an added bonus, in that your body and mind relax. Practicing yoga is another good way to reduce emotional stress and which doesn’t put undue stress on your body, while clearing your mind, leaving you feeling refreshed and ultimately, more limber and fit.

Last, if you’re not the laid-back type, you may want to consider reducing your consumption of caffeine. While you may love coffee, the caffeine can contribute mightily to an undesirable rush of adrenalin, which only worsens your susceptibility to physical and emotional stress. Try swapping an herbal tea or a glass of juice for that third cup of coffee.

Although emotional stress is unfortunately a fact of life for most of us, you can certainly minimize it, using all of the methods outlined here. You’ll find that your emotional balance improves, as well as feeling more energetic, sleeping better and experiencing fewer illnesses. To your good health!

I would like to officially make an announcement. Regardless of what folks have told you in the past, dismissing a lot of the hoopla you’ve heard on television, selling your house can really stink. Okay, before you get all down in the dumps or pull your humble abode off the market, please allow me to elaborate. I have sold a home in the past, and I’m currently trying to sell one right now. Let me tell you, there is a great deal of work involved. No, I’m not just talking about moving all your stuff out and into another home. Although, that part of moving is really nasty as well. What I’m referring to is the constant cleaning, the leaving when someone wants to traipse through your home with their muddy shoes, and of course the realtor fees. Those can really get on your nerves when all is said and done.

Here it goes; you’re currently considering selling your house. Stop for a moment! Let’s re-examine the situation. Interest rates are NOT in your favor at this time. Hence the 12 other homes in my neighborhood alone. People are settling for horrible prices just to get their houses sold. So if you don’t particularly need to sell your home at this time, I’d advise against it. You’ll get more later down the road. Give the market some time. The vicious cycle will end as it always does. And when rates are back to normal, you can slap that home on the market with pride and know you’re going to make a profit.

Some of us have to sell our homes this very moment. For those of you who do, like me, I highly suggest routine touch-ups. Scrutinize every room in the house and see what you can do to make it look more marketable. Selling your house is work! You have to be better than the next guy. Keep it looking pristine for potential buyers. Store personal effects that potential buyers hate to see. Be sure you’ve chosen neutral wall colors that appeal to most individuals and families. This is imperative because many people can’t see past these things. Selling your house is mostly based on presentation. Oh, and don’t forget to spruce-up that curb appeal prior to sticking that “for sale” sign in the front lawn.

Margin trading

Margin trading

Margin trading, and the workings of the stock market in general, is a mystery to the common public. Most can’t figure out one column of figures from the next, and econonmic theory goes right over their heads. Even when explained to in the simplest terms, people still can’t make heads or tails of margin trading and how one would go about doing it.

The most important thing to understand about margin trading, then, is that your stake in your purchase – be it in shares, bonds or securities – has to end up above a net value. If you borrow $80 from a broker on a $100 share, and the broker wants a minimum requirement of $10, you have to always keep your stake at $10 or above. If you don’t, you’ll be in default on the loan.

So it’s important to understand is that margin trading means you’re borrowing large sums of money from a broker in order trade. And that if you lose said large sum of money, you’re on the hook for your own loss as well as the loss of the broker. Obviously this won’t work out very well for you if you’re on the losing end of a market run. However, what should be readily apparent is that it’ll work out for the broker no matter what the market does.

Say the market is bullish and the value of your purchased securities goes up… the broker wins! He gets his fee from you and maybe something extra as determined by the loan conditions. Everyone’s rich, everyone’s happy, no big worries.

But say the market goes down – and it’s gone down significantly and often over the years. You’re on the hook for what you’ve lost, but now you’ve also got to pay off the broker. His cut won’t be as large as it would have been had the market gone up, of course, but he’s still making a profit because you’ve paid him in the first place to borrow the money no matter what the market does. This is called a “margin call,” and it means that you’ve got to pay the broker back right then or else you risk bankruptcy or worse.

This causes a volatile market, much like we’ve seen recently in the housing boom and bust, and much like we saw in the 1920s when margin trading nearly brought the western economy to its knees.
