Anyone who has this type of record must register where they live and where they work, in some cases. This means that anyone looking up this type of criminal record check in their own area will know if such a person is living nearby. As your children grow and begin to spend time at friends? houses and such, you have to know this information for the safety of your children.
Not all of the information that comes up with a sexual predator criminal record check will be relevant. Sometimes the records have not been updated, and that person will not be there any longer. However, you do have to look to see what comes up. I recently did this for my own neighborhood. In the last two years, the numbers of predators in my small community have jumped from three to thirteen. Not only that, one is a block away from me. It gives me the creeps, but it is far better that I know where he is and what he looks like so I can steer clear of him.

You can not use that information to harass anyone you find on the list, but you can use the information to be sure your children are safe. You have to use this information you find on a criminal record check carefully, but always check it when anyone wants to be around your children, especially if something does not feel right.
