Do You Know Enough About Bra Sizes?

There are some things that we are taught, as young ladies, about how things are going to be when we grow up. We learn about our monthly cycle, though we never learn enough about it, and we also learn about other changes that are going to be going on in our bodies. We are aware that we are going to be growing breasts, but that is as much as we know at that age. Later, we find out that getting the right bra sizes is a bit trickier than we thought.

There are many out there who are walking around in the wrong bra sizes. This is not because we don?t choose the right ones on purpose, it is simply because we are not sure how to choose one. We may try a few and take the one that seems to fit best, and then we decide that of all the bra sizes, this is the one that we should always buy. That can be a mistake, as all are made differently, and the one that fits best might not be our true size. You can?t decide by only trying on a few different ones in one store.

If you go to a high end or mid-priced lingerie store, you can have someone help you decide if you have been wearing the wrong bra sizes or not. You may not get the same help when you shop anywhere else. This is also something that you can do on your own at home. You should measure your chest just below your breasts, and then measure around the widest part of your breasts. If you measure 36 around, for example, and then 40 around the breast, you should be wearing a 36D. The measurement around your chest is your size, and the difference in inches equals one cup size.

However, something new has come along in the world of bra sizes. Many women have one breast that is larger than the other, and that means a full cup may not be good in either direction. They may be too big for a C, but too small for a D. There are a few companies that are putting out bra sizes in half cups. If you have trouble no matter what cup you choose, this might be just right for you. If you have a daughter of your own, explain this to her when you buy her very first bra so that she is never confused in the future.
