Compare SUVs
Compare SUVs
In this era of high gas prices and a shrinking world fuel supply, it is more important than ever to compare SUVs to make sure you’re getting the right deal for your current situation. Only a couple years ago, there were SUV buyers who were purchasing gas guzzling behemoths as if there was no end in sight to our current prosperity. Nowadays, even the biggest full-sized SUVs are trying to get leaner, more efficient, and more economical. Nonetheless, when you start to comare SUVs, it’s easy to see that there are some major differences.
One of the biggest ones that stands out is when you compare hybrid SUVs to normal ones. Not every SUV is a gas guzzler ? that is an unfair generalization ? but many of them do on average use up more gas than cars. If you really want an SUV but also want to save money on gas, try buying a hybrid truck. These trucks are more efficient than pretty much anything except for hybrid cars and motorcycles, yet they still have the heft of an SUV. Some of them, however, don’t have quite the same towing power. If you’re buying an SUV for some real work reasons or if you like to go off roading, make sure that you get something with the horsepower that you require.
Another difference that really shows up when you compare SUVs is safety. Certain models of SUVs have been prone to flipping the past and, although many of them are safer than they used to be, there is still some risk. No one wants to put their family in jeopardy. After all, one of the big benefits of an SUV is that it is so solidly built and above the ground that you aren’t likely to get hurt in an accident. If an SUV can rollover at the drop of a hat, you probably want to shy away from it and find something a little bit safer. You should always compare SUVs ? or any vehicle you buy ? for safety.
Nowadays, SUV owners are more likely to switch to other cars than previously. Part of this has to do with efficiency and cost. When you compare SUVs to other cars, most of them do guzzle more gas. On the other hand, a lot of this switching has to do with the fact that there isn’t such a firm line between SUVs and other vehicles as there used to be. Since the SUV has taken the role of the station wagon on, quite a few SUVs are basically just like large cars. They aren’t necessarily off roading vehicles anymore, and most of the differences are cosmetic. If you are not particularly attached to the look of an SUV, you might consider getting a car instead if it appeals to you.
