Finally, there are the animal costumes that strive for realism. Anyone can be a cute cartoony animal, but if you can come up with a realistic animal costume design, people will be really impressed with your look. It is an especially good effect if you’re trying to be scary. Dressing up as a wolf, mountain cat, or some other dangerous and vicious animal makes a big impression in Halloween parties.

Then again, you can always feel free to combine the different kinds of animal costumes until you find the right balance for yourself. The important thing is to create a fun costume design that you enjoy wearing and that looks good on you. One thing that most people think about is how their home smells. The best looking homes in the world can be marred when some type of odor seems to be lingering around. There are many products on the market that are meant to help wh this very problem, and due to their populary, you can tell that many have the same worries. No home is immune to odors, and many of them are innocent enough. Even the cleanest homes need a ltle help now and then when comes to keeping the house smelling nice. One of my favore products for this purpose are the Glade Plug Ins.

I had used sprays and candles for the means of making my house smell good. They worked, but they only worked for a ltle while. I love candles, but is hard to leave one burning all of the time, especially when there are ltle ones running around. This is when I decided to try the Glade Plug Ins. These promised to leave a lasting scent that would waft throughout the house and was not something that I would not have to worry about too much. The Glade Plug Ins work well in my house, and I never really had to worry about except when was time to change the filler.

The only problem I had wh the Glade Plug Ins was that they did run out too soon sometimes. That was a small problem though, and didn?t deter me from buying them and using them around my house. If you have a larger house, these might not work as well for you, but if you keep them in what you might think of as trouble spots, they should do the trick. Some of those spots that might need Glade Plug Ins would the bathrooms, foyers, and the kchen areas. You can also have them anywhere else, but those are the most pressing areas.

There are newer versions of the Glade Plug Ins today, and they are also very cool. Some of them blow the air around so that you have a scent that wafts much further. You can also get some that swch scents on occasion so that your nose does not get used to one and you can no longer smell . Scent is a tricky thing, and if you are smelling something for long enough, you no longer notice . If you swch up, keeps things fresh and you notice the nice smells for longer periods of time.

My husband and I are friends with a couple that we met through our church. We enjoy their company and through the years we have done many things together. We will get together at each other?s homes to play cards. We also go out to eat and to plays and other events. Each year between Christmas and New Years we take a day off of work and spend time together. Last year we went to a center that had several homes that had been replicated. Each home was from a different country and was decorated for the holidays in the traditions of that country. The houses were spaced several yards apart. There were also old world shops set up to create a small village atmosphere. The homes were life sized and had actors dressed for the time period and country that they were suppose to be representing. You had your choice of walking through the village and having a sleigh ride back to your car, or you could take the sleigh ride to the far end and work your way back. It was a very cold day so we decided to begin walking to the closest house.

The first house was from German decent. The first thing I noticed as we walked in was the beautiful braided rug. I am from German ancestry so I knew that the area rug was an authentic handmade piece. My grandmother always had a colorful braided rug in front of her kitchen sink. She would make them during the winter months. The woman that was dressed in period costume was sitting in front of the fireplace and was sewing the strips of fabric together that would be used to make the area rugs. All kinds of scrap fabrics are cut into strips and are sewn together to form ropes. The ropes are then braided together. Once the ropes are long enough they are wrapped around each other until the desired size is reached. The braided rug is then stitched together so that it will not uncoil. My husband and I have talked about learning these braiding techniques to make our own rugs. The women told us that after the holidays are over the different houses stay opened and they have classes to teach the various old world crafts She was going to be teaching rug braiding in January.

We continued on our tour of the different houses. Each ethnic group has added a different way of celebrating the holidays. It was very interesting to discover where some traditions have originated. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and my husband and I have promised each other that we will learn how to make a braided rug.

They allow you to carry your precious little one snugly and securely, thereby freeing your hands to make daily tasks such as shopping or straightening up around the house as easy as possible. And the stylish design and cool color combinations are suitable for both moms and dads, which is a refreshing change from manufacturers that produce only hot pinks and pastels that men wouldn’t be caught dead wearing!

The Active Baby Bjorn carriers are a bit different from the Original version. These are specifically designed for longer use, such as a day out at the zoo or at the mall. They feature sturdier construction than the Original models, have a unique lumbar support system, and extra-wide, adjustable shoulder straps that help distribute baby’s weight evenly and reduce stress on your shoulders, neck, and back. There really is a significant difference between these two types of Baby Bjorn carriers, which is why I need both.

wrap skirt

There are always a few embarrassing moments in a person?s life, usually from their childhood, that a person can never forget. I had a few of these, and one that sticks out from my younger days involves a wrap skirt. I had put it on to go to Sunday School, and though I wasn?t sure how to do it right, my mom told me it was okay, and we went to church as was our tradition each week. I guess I didn?t realize at that point that knots are never as sturdy as you think they are, and such a skirt should be readjusted every so often.

I made it through most of the day just fine, and I really didn?t think about my wrap skirt much. I have never really been overly concerned with my clothing, though I always do like to look nice. As young as I was though, I was more concerned about talking with friends and taking part in the lessons. At the end of the day we sang together and then left to go home. After we were done signing, I stood up, but my wrap skirt did not.

I didn?t realize that I had lost my wrap skirt has come undone until I had taken a few steps from my seat. I suddenly felt a little chilly, but had no idea why. I looked down and I wasn?t wearing anything on the bottom but my undies and my nylons. I froze when I realized I had lost my wrap skirt, and that I honestly wasn?t sure when it happened. I looked back and it was on my seat. I got it back on as fast as I could, but I never wore it after that and will not wear one to this day. No one really laughed, but it was humiliating to me none the less.

Even though I don?t wear them anymore, there are some great ones out there, and I can see why some many love them. A great wrap skirt can look really good, and there are many terrific styles that come up all of the time. You can find a wrap skirt in a lovely but casual style, or you can find some that go great with evening wear. They are also great for the beach when you want something to go over your suit when you are done going into the water. Don?t let my experience make you think twice, just remember to double check that your skirt is secure a few times throughout the day.

The special case of losing a child: dealing with grief and depression

Losing a loved one is never easy. In the case of an elderly person, suffering great physical pain and in poor health, a death is a shock. Death is the line no one has crossed and it’s a sense of disbelief that accompanies the initial shock. You grieve because you miss them, but it’s hard to think that they are not in a better place, with all these woes behind them.

The most painful loss is that of losing a child. This does not fit in to our definition of what’s natural. As adults, we expect our parents to die before us, it’s the natural order. Perhaps we unconsciously prepare for this eventuality.

When you lose a child, you are absolutely unprepared, psychologically, for such an event. The grief and depression that ensues is unspeakable.

As adults, we subconsciously know, that at some point, our parents will, due to poor health or simply age, die. So we have an expectation that this will occur at some future moment in time. Because we subconsciously know that we will face this grief, we are actually better prepared to deal with the grief and depression that naturally accompany the loss of our parents.

On the other hand, we never expect our children to die before us. We nurture our children, guiding them towards adulthood as best we can, with all the hope and promise for them at the forefront of our mind and spirit. To have a child snatched out of life is something no one is prepared to face.

This is a life event that surpasses any other loss. The shock lasts for many months, with grief so intense as to make you dysfunctional. Your body feels as though it is made of lead. Depression is a surety. In the case of losing a child, grief and depression combine into a monstrously overwhelming condition, from which there seems no escape.

Dealing with the grief and depression of this sort is far more complicated and devastating than any other loss through death. When your beloved grandmother dies, you experience shock, followed closely by grief. Depression may follow. In the case of a child, lost prematurely, shock, grief and depression occur simultaneously. You may well doubt your sanity.

It’s been said that time heals all wounds. If you lose a child, this is one wound that never heals. Dealing with the grief and depression of such an event can be the challenge of a lifetime.

What can you do? Although it may sound trite, you need to go day by day, a step at a time. Accept that you will cry, mourn and may never recover your previous level of zest for life.

Understand that friends cannot possibly know what you are experiencing, unless they have lost a child themselves. The depth of your emotions are out of the natural order. If you are religious, pray. Prayer provides comfort. You might also consider making an appointment with a grief counselor. Lean on friends for some support, but don’t expect anyone to understand the depth of your pain, grief and depression. This is uncharted territory for most people.

When you’re feeling especially alone in the world, you might find relief in forums devoted to this subject. You aren’t alone. Others have been through this terrible tragedy. The relative anonymity of the web and forum venue may allow you to express yourself more fully. You can gain valuable insights. It can also help ease your grief and depression simply by knowing that others, who have been down this same road, have experienced many of the same feelings you have. Over time, some healing will take place.

Writing down your thoughts in a journal can be most helpful, because, over time, you can see changes in your own emotions and a lessening of your grief and depression. God bless you and keep you.

Save Big with Notebook Computer Sales

I have to buy a new laptop soon, as mine is a few years old now and woefully out of spec already. I can’t even watch streaming video on a lot of websites because my video card isn’t up to date and my processor is slow as molasses. It’s funny though, because back when I bought this unit, it was considered a top-notch piece of equipment. Oh, how quickly things change in the wonderful world of technology! So now I’m stuck waiting around for some big notebook computer sales in order to get a newer model with better specifications.

I’m monitoring a few different places for notebook computer sales, and will jump on any good deal that comes up. First, I’m keeping track of some big electronics stores like Best Buy, Fry’s, and even Radio Shack. While I usually try to avoid these national chains, sometimes they offer bargains that their competitors simply cannot match. So it doesn’t hurt to at least keep an eye on their prices. Who knows, they might surprise me.

Of course, buying a laptop online will probably yield a better deal in the end, so I’m also tracking several websites at this time. For instance, Buy.com is known for having some amazing notebook computer sales. Unfortunately, their discounts only last about a week or so and they sell out very quickly, which means that I’ll have to act fast if I see something I like over there. Amazon.com is another place that ought to have good notebook computer sales, and eBay is pretty good as well.

Another thing I’m going to try this time around is looking at police auctions. A friend of mine recently purchased a very good laptop that retails for close to $2500. But since he got it from a police auction, he got nearly 70% off the sticker price. Now that’s not something you’re likely to see at a typical notebook computer sales event! But police auctions are a whole different ball of wax, as the cops are just trying to recoup some money from equipment seized from drug dealers, tax evaders, and other criminals. I’d heard of getting cars, boats, and even houses via this method before, but not laptops. Still, I figure it’s worth a try.

All in all, I’m sure I’ll come across some decent notebook computer sales soon. I don’t need tons of features and all the bells and whistles that the most expensive machine on the market delivers. I just want something that will allow me to watch streaming videos, play the latest games, surf the Web, and do some work with the Microsoft Office suite. That’s not too much to ask for, is it? Here’s hoping I get a great laptop at an awesome price sometime soon!

Technology is a wonderful thing indeed. Innovative gadgetry is not just for people, either. Our pets now have an array of techy inventions from which to choose in their own lineup of accessories. The automatic cat litter boxes are just one example that proves to be a people pleaser as well. I’ve not met anyone who enjoys cleaning the cat litter box. This chore ranks right next to cleaning my oven. While the automatic cat litter boxes are a bit more pricey than the standard manual tray, the extra bucks are well spent in automating this task. There are a variety of manufacturers and designs, but the system is essentially the same across brands. Here we take a look at what to expect when you upgrade your cat’s bathroom area.

It’s kind of odd to think that my kitty’s bathroom is more high tech than my oven, which doesn’t feature self-cleaning. Hmm.

Be aware that each brand of automatic cat litter box comes with a recommendation on a specific brand of cat litter which works best with the particular model. While the automatic cat litter boxes require less cat litter, check the pricing on the recommended brand, to avoid sticker shock when you replenish your supply. Most use the clumping or crystal types of litter. The recommended litter brand name is not as important as the type, so if you’re looking to save, you might try using a generic type of crystal or clumping litter. It should work just as well.

You’ll also need to replace the tray periodically. Here’s a tip on getting some extra life out of your tray ? line the tray with a plastic trash bag before filling with cat litter. This trick can help reduce your tray costs.

Most cats like using the automatic cat litter boxes. The covered feature is usually a plus, as cats feel secure in little nest-like environments. As any cat owner can tell you, cats are a bit eccentric and some will turn up their nose at this new bathroom. You may find that a short transition period is required before your kitty embraces the new technology. All but the most stubborn of cats grow to love their new gadget. In a two cat household, you may even find them both trying to squeeze into the bathroom together! So the automatic cat litter boxes may provide unexpected laughter. It is a pretty funny sight to behold.
